I just started to back up my family photo albums digitaly. I get about 5 photos to fit onto a scanned page but i want to break them up into individual photos now. Does anyone know where i can find softwear to do this for me instead of selecting the photo pasteing it and saveing it?

There is no software that I know of that will do this automatically for you. You are doing it pretty much the way I do ... I use Paintshop Pro, scan the photo's, I usually do about 10 scans then process them (you need a minimum of 1gb Ram to do this, and few other programs running).

I then select the photo's one at a time, choose copy then paste as new image, and save with default numbering, and the last photo on each scan can then be cropped out and just saved. Yes, it's time consuming, but doing it that way is a bit streamlined, and when it's done, you have your digital copies ready to go! Don't forget to have a backup, preferably on a separate computer or hard drive, as well on DVD's or CD's.

Alternatively, you can pay to have them scanned .... photo stores have machines to do this, and you might get a good batch price on the project.

Let me see if I understand you correctly. You want software that will read your scanned page, automatically figure out how many pictures are on that scanned page, and separate them digitally, and save them individually?

I don't know of any software that'll do that, and if it exists, it certainly will not be free.

When ever you scan something its sent to your computer has a image so if you want your photos has one image scan them one at a time. Have fun.
