Well their economy isn't strong enough for them to be their own country, and if the government is going to keep giving them a lot of money, then why should they want to be another country?

I personally think there should be a nation wide referendum on whether or not Quebec should leave. The new federal budget gives Quebec the most, as with "The Sponsorship Scandal" I am tired of giving into Quebec when they threaten to leave. It is becoming like the boy who cried wolf. After awhile you just don't believe or care. If they want to so be it. Of course they will still be on the line for 10% of the deficit (their "equal" percentage). And how will they approach the natives that do not want to succeed from Canada? If it's the natives land they have a right to choose which country they will join, or even make their own. They will loose their culture. If they are not dealing with English Canada, then they will be dealing with English America. Either way their main and closest trading partners will be English speaking.

I hope not. Quebec is a great part of Canada. It's part of what makes Canada so unique....each part so different form the next.

I also don't think the seperatist movement is a strong as it once was.

I don't think independence is a realistic goal. I doubt that Quebec could make it on their own economically.

The 51-49 vote was a scary thing for Canada.

Well i hope not. Quebec is a great part of Canada and i am sure those living in Quebec (refuse to call them quebecois, they are canadians) think that the rest of canada is great as well.

It will really be Quebec's lost to be their own country, Canada is such a great country but i am sure all canadians do not want to loose Quebec either, it is such an interesting and beautiful part of their country.I have a feeling those in Quebec know that and want to be a part of Canada as they have always voted to be with Canada.I think they love Canada too much to make Canadians beg them again not to vote for independence like they did the first time.

Not for a while. The sovereigntists will not succeed as long as things are going good. An economic downturn, or scandals with Ottawa might make it happen in the future.

I think Quebec will always be "separate" from the rest of Canada. which isn't a bad thing either. It's really up to them to decide whether or not to leave.

No, I don't think so. At the rate the federal government has been pumping money in there, why would they?
