I what to know how to prepare a hook using sinkers, and etc to catch different fish like catfish, sunfish or pikes or whatever freshwater I can catch in a pond.

ps if you could tell me what fish are available to catch in ponds in MA

first thing is that you aren't "preparing you hook" to fish...... you are "rigging up" or "setting up" your rod . For catfish I personally like to use a sliding sinker about 2'-3' above my bait with a splitshot as a stopper. for sunfish or bluegill / perch usually just a splitshot about 1&1/2' above the hook or set it up on a bobber. in most ponds you will find everything from bass to bluegill/sunfish to cats to crappie......ask who ever owns the pond what they have in it ................Oh Yea ! always ask to go fishing on a private pond , and let them know when you leave too......that way they know who is out there and who isn't . Saves alot of trouble and shows respect to those who were nice enough to let you fish thier pond .
