not much in the bible makes sense

2007-03-23 19:05:39 · answer #1 · answered by ? 6 · 2 4

that's not the right question. The correct question is, "If God created Adam and Eve 6-10000 years ago in western Iran, then why can we show this isn't where the first came from?"

But it's funny, some people said Adam's missing rib wouldn't be passed on to his kids(which makes sense), then some said women do have an extra rib (which explains absolutely nothing, God would have used the rib as a starting point, not add it to Eve's normal body). I swaear if atheists/non-christians all disappeared tomorrow, there'd be just as much arguing as there is now, only over dumber stuff.

Only God knows. But why don't you ever think that maybe before God take adam's rib, adam have one more rib than eve. And after God took it, Adam had the same equal number of rib eve.

What the English people called the rib was actually the helix. I think that's how it's spelled. It is the bone that created the curve in the woman and trust me, men don't have it. Much of The Word, as we know it, has other definitions or descriptive terms when translated back to the original Hebrew and Greek. Hope this helps. :)

This is a Genesis 2:21-23 question. Here is an interlinear translation from the Hebrew:
21 and-he-is-causing-to-fall Yahweh Elohim stupor on the-human and-he-is-taking one from-angular-organs-of-him and-he-is-closing flesh under-her
22 and-he-is-building Yahweh Elohim the angular-organ which he-takes from from the-human to-woman and-he-is-bring-her to the-human
23 and-he-is-saying the-human this-one the-once from-bones-of-me and-fresh from-flesh-of-me to-this he-shall-call woman that from-man he-took-her this-one.

You will see that God is takes "from-angular-organs-of-him" Adam and puts an angular-organ to Eve. More over Adam talks about bones and flesh.

Answer: There is no mention of rib or ribs when looking at the Hebrew manuscript.

I do think this is a silly question. Let's assume that you will lose an arm because of a traffic accident. Does that mean any of your children will be born with only one arm? No. It does not. What makes you believe Adam's male children were supposed to be born with one less rib?

You see, all men are not the person that Adam was. Point to anyone that you know who is a man, it's not Adam, the first man. You see, he aint around anymore. It simple, but I guess for some people it''s a difficult concept.

Did you know that if you had an operation to remove, say, your foot, that the children that you have after that would still likely be born with their feet? It's also a difficult concept for some people.

That's another bit of craziness. God creates all the animals male and female, but when he gets to Adam, it slips his mind. It is a surprise to him to find that Adam is lonely. Further, he apparently used up most of his creative juices creating the universe and Adam out of nothing. Now suddenly he has to chop Adam for spare parts in order to make a female. This bit portrays God as suddenly rather witless. It is nonsense with the purpose of creating the belief that woman is suborninate to man, and to somewhat invalidate her as an individual soul. Not buying it.

It grew back. and when you laugh.....research the last rib in the body. it can regenerate itself.

they didn't know of science nor workings of the human body back then.....so if this is all just a "story" as so many say. HOW did they know the rib would regrow and they could use that as a metaphor for a woman? IMPOSSIBLE.

Good question.

The story does offer proof that Adam was white, however.
Ever try taking ribs away from a black man?
