No, I don't think they should if they have a conscience feeling or belief against it. Then they shouldn't enlist in any armed forces. Join or do something else instead.

you may love your enemies but you must love your family. Do not compare yourself to God! War must be done if your enemies want to ruin your country, bring havoc to your people and kill your family! By killing your enemies, you committed sin but achieved greater deed for saving your country from evil-doers!

...its war already! what part of WAR do you not get??? why do you ppl keep trying to find bad stuff to say about us? when you point your finger at us there are 4 more pointing back at you! I know you ppl don't like it when Christians say that without Christ you will go to Hell but you need to understand that we did not write the BOOK and we are not GOD. These are HIS words and HIS rules we all must follow. There is not one thing GOD has asked us to do that is harmful to us but exactly the opposite. So go ahead and do the "thumbs down" thing if you wish. You ppl always do if we don't cave into the things you say about us and our GOD.
Edit: you just couldn't wait to say something bad about Jesus could you? How childish of you!! Not to mention disrespectful. You can twist things all you want but you will not prove Jesus wrong!!!

It is my understanding that the commandment regarding killing means to "murder". Murder is an act of taking the life of someone without justification. If Christians were to go out and simply kill because people disagreed with their ideas (such as during the crusades), this is wrong as it had no justification. However, if Christians or a country is attacked, it is the right of all of its citizens to defend themselves against the attackers. That is not murder.

It probably would be un-christian of them to do so. But, hey, that's never stopped them before!
Seems like all the christians here have never heard of "turning the other cheek". It also seems that they only follow the teachings of Jesus when it suits them. How convenient.

If they are in the military and they are given the duty, yes. If they are not in the military and they see no other way to resolve the issue, yes.
