So I got this new panasonic mini dv camcorder, digital of course and i got it at a pawn shop so didnt get the disk/driver for it.
I plugged it into the USB and it searches on my computer but cant find the hardware it says...help pleease!!!
I cant find it ANYWHERE i've searched everyone online


The model number is: pv-gs50d
Panasonic mini dv digital zoom.

When it says it can find the hardware the computer is telling you it doesn't recognize it simply because the camcorder might require a certain type of software for it to work with your computer.

try recording something and then switch the camera to playback and turn it on. then see if XP see it. i have been reading about all the problems with those camera. here is the link about them. read about 3/4 of the way down on the page. XP should see it without any drivers to be installed from a disk. also if you have the 4pin to 4pin firewire use it not the 6pin to 4pin. make sure you read all the posts. it is very informative. i don't have that brand but sure learned alot from it.
apparently panasonics tech support won't get you anywhere from what other had said.

That won't transfer your video however, you need a firewire cord to do that or possilby a firewire USB, which may or may not work.

Otherwise you need a PCI card from Dazzle that handles analog and digital.
