It depends

Federal warrants - YES
Traffic ticket- Maybe
Other warrants- maybe

It all depends on who's doing the looking. The Police and Feds have access to more information than anyone else. Everyone else has less access.

For example: If you had a traffic ticket thrown out, the insurance company and others may never find out but the police would have a record of it. The Federal government can block out certain info that people can look up.

You would need to have a friend that works in a court or police station; even with that you may not find a Nation wide warrant because all counties report to it's state capitol. You would have to contact each state capitol to find out.

Their are channels that employers use to find info but even those are limited.

I don't believe there is a nationwide data base for warrants (one that's free anyway). Some states have warrant information available online organized by county. You will also need to know the person's date of birth. The problem with finding warrants is that not all agencies enter their warrants on computer. Many agencies only enter warrants for violent crimes. So a cop may or may not be able to tell you if you have a warrant outside of his agency. The only way to find the rest is to contact the agency directly, unless you are in a state that has them listed online -- and even then, only the district warrants are listed, not the municipal warrants. It's a bit confusing, but I hope you find what you're looking for.

Most warrents are issued state by state, With that you really just need to go up to a cop with a computer in his car and he can tell you if someone has warrent out for them.

Most warrants that are issued for people nationwide are people that would be on a 10 most wanted list. That would probable be an FBI kind of list.

If you are suspicious of a person then I would phone the non-emergency number of the police and give them the details. They have an easier way to do a quick search. Although they cannot tell you right away what's up with that person, if they contact you again for further info you can prob be certain something is up with that person.
