The most important attribute for any fighting art is of course TECHNIQUE. Technique is what permits a 130lb boxer, wrestler, or jui-jitsu grappler to dominate an opponent as much as 100 lbs heavier.

Assuming equal levels of technique, the next most important attribute is ENDURANCE or stamina. If you gas out in any martial art that uses a timed round system, you're done.

The most underrated attribute in MMA is HEART or resilience. Possessing the fortitude to keep fighting and trying to win even when losing or taking a beating is not only demoralizing for an opponent, but also the sign of a true warrior.

Good luck!

Endurance is the biggest attribute. You can be strong and fast as you possibly can, but if your body can't handle 15 to 25 minutes of non stop offense and defense, you'll get more weaker and slower and more tired with each second. So your cardio and your energy is vital to MMA.

Gotta develop all these attributes, most of all though, you have to overcome any fear you may have of getting hit. Flinching and going wild will not help. You have to be calm in the storm of a fight and not get frustrated. Develope a good ground game and plenty of stamina. Learn pressure points too, you would be surprised how much you can take out of your opponent with some well placed punches.

a good chin can work wonders, how many fight would big nog have won if he had a glass chin also AA would be unstoppable if it wasn't for his glass chin,

then i would have to say that power is very important , im not just talking strikes but explosiveness, total control of Ur own body getting from ur back to ur feet instantly or sprawling in a flash, strength is one thing but power is so much more useful, randleman was the most powerful guy in mma but wasted his talent because he was mentally weak he could have been the best in my opinion but never learnt how to win, how the **** didnt he beet fedor after that slam and how didnt he finish off sakuraba, plus u can tell he never had the heart because only the lowest of humans except to lose in a worked fight 'cro cop randleman'

If u don't have endurance, u might as well throw all the important attributes that u do possess out the window.

Gotta be able to take hits EVERYWHERE on the head and body. In MMA there's no such thing as not getting hit, you ARE going to eat leather. And endurance conditioning is a close second, if not equal, to being able to get struck.

Breath Controll. Some of the guys at my MMA place smoke but they do special breathing techniques to last longer in the cage. Breath also affects your strikes.

I would say endurance because you would last longer if you have strength you would get fatigued fast and if you had speed same thing....

Strategy!!!

A good strategy will always win.

Look at this:
4 men in the woods cutting down trees
1 Strong but stupid
2 Weak but smart
3 Strong but smart
4 Weak and stupid

1 will chop down more trees than 4 and maybe chop down as many trees as 2.
2 will chop down more trees than 4 and maybe chop down as many trees as one.
3 will chop down more trees than any other
and 4 will pick his nose all day.
