Tattoos are getting very popular. If you can't remember various conversion factors, perhaps you should tattoo a few on a body part. Preferably somewhere you can see them without a mirror. Start with this one.

1 inch = 2.54 cm

With this and a basic understanding of measurements you can answer your own question.

1 meter = 100 cm
4 meter = 400 cm

400 cm * 1 in / 2.54 cm = 157.5 in

157.5 inches * 1 ft / 12 in = 13.12 ft.

In case your tattoo artist is offering a volume discount, here are a few other useful conversions to include:

1 kg = 2.2 lbs.
1 pint = 1 lb (water)
60 mph = 88 ft / sec

Then again, you can always download a free unit conversion.

Convert 4 Meters To Feet

2016-10-28 14:08:43 · answer #2 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

13

A meter(metre) is approx. 39 inches(a touch more).
36" = 3 feet
4' x 3' = 12'

3" per meter times 4 = 12" = 1foot

12' + 1' = 13'(feet-approx)
The higher the number of meters, the more deviation from the simple example you've given. Please look up the meter, at least to 2 decimal places.

one meter = 3.28 feet or 39.36 inches

SO - getting technical, 4 meters = 13 feet plus .36" x 4= 1.44"
in addition to the 13 feet - thus - 4 meters = 13 ft. 1.44 inches

Note: Not a 'swelled head here', but once in a while I'll do something like this.
Here in Canada, back in the 50's I had to learn a substantial number of metric equivalences to what we call 'British' measurements of all kinds. It was just the schooling I had!!
Even people from my generation mostly didn't have to study it. It just happened to be where I attended!!
Thus, a huge number of Canadians still don't get it, although we changed to metric in 1976.
Americans are at a tremendous disadvantage this way for two reasons. the metric system is 'Greek' to them, except for the Greeks, of course, and never mind the linear(length) measurements, volume and area are 'murder'.

EXAMPLE: A real beaut - learning time!

The 'American' 'gallon' is approx. 133 ounces (oh yeah!).
The 'gallon' is made up in volume of (3.78 liters- ya!) which is 3.78 times 35.2 ounces(that's the ounces volume in a liter!).

Now an American quart is 32 ounces - yep!
4 quarts amounts to 128 ounces - BLING!
Why, you say? Beats me!!

Now, an 'Imperial' or 'British' quart is 40 ounces in volume.
An 'Imperial' gallon is 160 ounces or exactly 4 'Imperial' quarts!!
This is why I'm digressing on the topic - to help - OR - to make it 'clear as mud' - your choice.

See, the old-fashioned 'cup' is 8 ounces. In America 2 cups(16 ounces is a pint) - 4 cups is a quart(32 ounces).
'Imperial' measure for a 'cup' is 8(count 'em) ounces, BUT 20 ounces is a pint and 40 ounces is a quart - go figure??

It's a mess for u in the good ol' USA!! Hope I've helped.

Convert 4m To Feet

2016-12-14 16:53:07 · answer #7 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

Use these conversion factors:

1 Meter = 100 Centimeters
2.54 Centimeters = 1 Inch
12 Inches = 1 Foot

4 M x (100 cm/1M) x (1 in./2.54cm) x (1 ft. / 12 in.) = 13.12 ft.

Line up the factors on a sheet of notebook paper and notice how the units cancel out to LEAVE YOU with "ft.".

If you want to convert the DECIMAL PORTION to INCHES, then take the decimal portion and multiply by 12, (12in./ft.):
(0.1234 ft.)(12 in./1ft.) = 1.48 in. ~ 1.5 in.

SO: 13.12 ft. ~ 13ft. 1.5in.

Use the conversion I showed you on your other question.

There are 24.5 mm in an inch (exactly)

4 m x 1000 mm/m x 1 in/25.4 mm x 1ft/12in = 13.1234 ft

Hope this helps.
