this may sound gross but mayo is good for the hair. It's got natural oils and lemon which makes hair shine. Back off from others like miracle whip though...it has to read REAL MAYONNAISE...actress/singer Thalia swears by it. I've used it and my hair became smoother. Be sure to wash thoroughly and have a nice smelling shampoo afterwards. Btw use it BEFORE shampooing and leave on for about 30 min with a shower cap. Rinse out and shampoo and condition as usual.

hmm...good conditioner you say ? well, certain brands (like treseme ) have wheat protein in them which actually creates a thick, straw like affect to your hair. try using Silk Therapy ( Biosilk i think) while it's wet to soften it it. Don't blow dry, and wear a pea-sized amount of oil-free sunblock in your hair to protect it from the sun. You can also get a silicon glaze at the salon to make it shiny and soft. GOOD LUCK !
You could try an egg rinse. That'll make it much softer. I've never done it but some people swear by it. Oh and avocado.

Try getting extra omega3 fatty acids in your diet. You could also gently massage jojoba oil into your hair about once a week. The advice to keep your ends cut & not blow dry or heat style is also very good.

Split ends- only cure is to cut them off. Dry- stop dying them or killing them with hair products

most hair products are garbage. Especially the high end stuff. Save you money and your hair and use the cheap stuff. Don't wash it every day. I should have put that first.
