A women's shelter as someone suggested is a good idea. Anotehr good idea would be a Life Center near you. These are centers that help women decide not to have abortions and that provide moms and moms to be with the things they and their babies need. Many of the women who consider terminating a pregnancy consider it because they feel they can not provide for a child. Life Centers help overcome this fear by helping the mom learn places to get help and by providing things like sterilizers, car seats, strollers, disposible diapers, baby clothes etc. Your gift can help save a baby's life and show a frigetened mom that someone cares. To find a Life Center near you look in your yellow pages under Abortion Alternatives.

if you're willing to do a little bit of research to make a difference, you could donate then to a battered women's shelter. it would help women who are trying to get themselves and their children on their feet after escaping an abusive relationship. a gift of baby items like strollers and car seats would take a great deal of worry off of a battered woman's shoulders. just look in your phone book for a shelter and give them a call to arrange your donation.

It would be wonderful to find a Domestic Violence safety home that houses women with children. So very often these women have had to "escape" their own homes with their children and leave belongings behind in order to make it out to get help. It would be such a blessing to them.

You could donate the items to your local Goodwill and ask for a receipt and you can use it as a tax deduction.

i would try your local homeless shelter or ywca. you might also try your local food pantries. sometimes they give out things other than food to those in need. my thoughts first go to those truly in need. thrift stores can be a solution if needed.
