Hi, to me it sounds like depression.. I would recommend, (1) write a list of things that you like about yourself, things your good at.. no matter how mundane. and re-read them to yourself outloud. (2) maybe a change in diet is needed, try eating food that makes you feel good about yourself. (3) get out and play a sport or get some exercise. I just started pilates, and it's a great time.. find something that you like to do, and do it. (4) go tanning, especially during winter, sometimes the lack of sun can affect us physiologicaly. (5) see your doctor and talk to him/her about it, you'd be surprised how common depression is. They may have other ideas.. they may refer you to a specialist.
I hope this helps.

Hannah, there are a lot of things to consider, your age, has something happened recently to change your environment? Having a new child can cause the blues.

If you have an ongoing issue, you should go see your physician and get a referral for medication and/or counseling to help you get through this.

With the way the world is, and the headlines, it is hard to keep your chin up at times. I would turn off the news and turn on the music, go to the ocean, surround yourself with things you love and get on with making a difference in your own walk. This old world needs you, everyone of you to make a positive difference and turn things around.

Go to DOCTOR! If you always feel sad, you are probably depressed. Doctors will examine you and get you help. Most of the time they can give you a prescription that stimulates the brain's chemistry into producing more seretonin.
It is never a good thing to ignore depression.

Join the club Hannah, I come down with depression too. The good news is that it's fairly easy to treat. First talk to your GP. There are several different types of depression. One kind is called seasonal affective disorder and treating it consists of bright light, exercise and little more. I needed medication once, but within a few weeks I was OK. Post-natal depression comes after childbirth. If you had a miserable childhood you're likely to come down with depression. Stress can cause it too. So can illness, like flu. Make sure you talk to somebody you can trust. Don't bottle it up.

Hannah, you may be suffering from depression. You should discuss it with your doctor. It may be a situational thing or hormonal, but the doctor should be able to help you figure out what it is. If it's depression you may want to try taking an antidepressant for a while. Call and make an appointment. Don't accept feeling bad. Life is too short.

Well it sounds like you are depressed, so why not take a trip down to the therapist, and talk with them about it, it is better to go and get the help now, and nip it in the bu*t now then wait, and have it a lot harder to get through. You may find that you just have a normal case of depression , that can be cured, in a varyly short time.

Compare yourself with those less fortunate, like those who are working day to night and still has got not much left for a meal... those who are always worried about their next meal... those who are looking at their purse and worrying whether there will be enough to buy milk for their baby... Maybe you will feel happier if you give these people a helping hand...

I know what you mean. I feel sad a lot too. I see a psychologist. I don't think it's helping me. I have childhood-related PTSD. I have hope for the future and that helps a little.

It could be a hormonal embalance or a poor diet.

If you know you're not getting enough fruits and vegetables, take a supplement and start eating better. If that's not the case, see your doctor. It may even be your thyroid.
