I agree with what you said about religion being the undoing of civilization. It was after 9/11 that I realized that there may not be a way out of this; that we may very well end up destroying each other over a bunch of ridiculous old books, ruined old buildings, and a few hundred square miles of real estate.

Before 9/11 I was a Christian but did not trust organized religion. After 9/11 I started going to church as more of a spiritual hide out. 9/11 and hurricane Katrina made it crystal clear that the only thing protecting the United States is the grace of GOD and if we rebel he can and will do as we wish and "go away". I am afraid many Americans have fallen prey to this seeker friendly fluffy bunny rainbow Santa clause sugar daddy GOD that does not exist. At least not in the Bible.

have you ever heard of the Holocaust? not trying to be mean, but tragedies clearly happen all the time. I also worry about the future, how the hell can we really defeat terrorism as long as people are willing to die for an invisible God. If I had that much faith, i wouldn't give a sh-t what any laws or reason told me either. And for the person who said God directed people away from the planes/towers, that implies he could have stepped in at any moment, and didn't. He is literally a criminal.

9/11 just made me more certain there is no god!! It angers me!I think if you just take Christianity in it's belief system, And some others too, You're an absolute idiot! If you don't ask the questions you'll just be DREAMING your life away! There is no heaven man to pat you on the back or send you to hell!! Only man could be this calloused.

To each his own, I say. Some say religion is a curse, some say it's a blessing. But again, to each his own.
I was kind of skeptical on religion before 9/11 started already. That didn't do much to impact my opinion.

No it confirmed by belief in God. I heard many stories of people that accidentally "missed" their flight that day or that had decided to stay home or were late for work in the towers. God still cares for us. And He's with us in the midst of such tragedies.

Not really. My opinion of religion was merely confirmed.
I have yet to see faith move a mountain. I have seen what it does to buildings.
