Perhaps your parents don't see you as being ready for a guy thus far. You need to talk to your parents on things that touch on your life, your education, your maturity... Sometimes parents can also see a person more clearly than we can ever imagine. Sometimes they see through. Parents are not dumb, and listening to your parents could actually be the wisest thing you could ever do. They don't want evil for you, so trying to understand where they're coming from could benefit you a lot!

Girl. if you haven't done nothing and he hasn't tried nothing on with u then he sounds ok but parents r right in some ways but can be wrong, tell ur parents how u feel about him and say u will date him. they shouldn't need to trust him the should trust u on not to just go jump into bed with him.
Tell your parents u have been dating him for so many months/weeks and he SEEMS like a nice guy tell the u r not going to just jump into bed with him and tell them to stop judging people they dont know and to give him a chance.

I would get rid of the gut first then worry about what your parents think about your boy friend. Seriously, you should have him meet your parents and have a talk with him, they may learn to like him and give their ok for you to date him.

how do you know that he is not? if you have a plausible explanation other than him telling you he's not than i would say to let him prove to your parents that he is generally interested. have him come over and hang out with your parents and you. like a movie night or something. have him become more involved.. not hiding behind your parents backs. they have the best intentions, i mean your parents do, generally, unless you have bad parents, they are looking out for your best interest and something about him or what you've said about him has alarmed them. so.. i'd say talk to them why they feel that way. communication is the key..

Well you are obviously very young. I can tell you, from experience, parents are usually right. They seem to have a sixth sense when it comes to things like this. I know you won't take my advice to listen to your parents, so I will tell you this. Keep your eyes and ears open. Don't compromise yourself to keep your boyfriend happy. There will be plenty of men in your future, and you deserve the one who will truly help your heart smile.

I think that if the guy is really serious about you your parents will figure that out. Just give them time.

There is a lot to consider: what is your age and his? what do your folks say is their reason for not liking him? does your family belong to a church? Reason I ask about church is, it would really be telling to invite this young man to church with you and see how he acts in your environment. Talk to your folks, don't keep them out, because they are your rudder and they will help you stay on course and tell you the truth. Ask your folks if they would invite your young man into your home to have dinner and visit with them, this will tell you a huge amount about him; if it doesn't feel right how he talks or treats your folks, you need to listen to that inner voice that keeps you safe. If you have to hide him and if you have to talk yourself into or out of him, you need to step back and reassess your direction.
