What do you think of when you hear "cool aid"?

Misspelled? Kool Aid? Kool-Aid? Kool and the Gang. Kool Cigarettes.

Cool as in cool summer breeze.

Aid as in assistance.

Most think of the drink youngsters enjoy.

Some remember what happened in Jonestown.

Amazing. I expected the opposite.

Kool-aid, coolaid, cool-ade, cool-aide, etc

I think Cult, cult like behavior, the phrase "Drinking the Kool-aid." is a refernce to Jim Jones and the Jonestown tragedy in Guyana in which a cult commited mass suicide/was killed by drinking cyanide laced Kool-aid.

It often refers to people buying into an idea hook line and sinker with out any thought, like many people are doing when they jump on Al Gores bandwagon.

Also, Jonestown was technically done with "Flav R Aid", because if you're going to commit mass suicide, I say you should try to save a few bucks too.

I think of the Kool Aid I drank when I was a little kid. It came in small packets: grape, cherry, etc. I think of the smiling face on a pitcher of Kool Aid.

If I'm thirsty, I think of that big fat pitcher busting into stuff. If I'm watching the news, I think of Jim Jones. If I am being reminiscent, I think of making snocones with thick pre seetend Kool aid. Cherry to be precise.
