For the last month or so, I've been "seeing stars" and getting very dizzy when I stand up. It is getting progressively worse every week. What could be happening inside the body to cause this to happen?

I started meds for high blood pressure six months ago. I have been on the same
meds the entire time. My blood pressure is still averaging around 135/90. My DR. doesn't seem to think anything is wrong. I know I need to find a new one.

Many things could be at work here.low blood pressure , brain problems , eye problems, inner ear problem, heart problem , vein problem, not getting blood to the brain. I think you should go to an internal medicene doctor and get if checked out. Or if you need to go to a primary care doctor, start there. If you still have problems, get a referral, and remember, doctors are like barbers, the busy ones are usually good.

It sounds like you have a problem with your blood pressure. Are you on medications for hypertension? If you are, your doctor may need to reduce your dosage. If your not on medication, you have something going on that's lowering your bp, IMO. You need to call your doctor and describe your symptoms. If they feel you need to be seen right away they can give you an appointment. If they don't feel it's urgent, you should still go in and get a checkup. In the meantime, you might try to get your blood pressure taken. If it's below 100 on the top number and below 60 on the bottom, it's too low. Lots of drug stores have an automatic machine for taking your bp for free. Good luck.

When you stand up suddenly and you get faint ,your blood pressure is a bit low.Sometimes you can see stars if you're not getting enough oxygen.Maybe your blood sugar is low.Hey,but what do I know ,that's all from experience.

Are you on medication? Some medications have that side effects. However I highly recommend you SEE A DOCTOR RIGHT AWAY! This could possibly be a sign of a serious neurological illness.

Low blood pressure can be, and is likely the cause. See your Dr. asap.

Your occipital lobe which is located at the back part of your head may have been hurt or striked lately which could cause you to see stars.

I get that too. For me it's caused by Orthostatic hypotension. It's nothing serious, the worse thing that can happen is fainting.

dehydration, migraines, ischemia, tumor, aneurysm, pinched nerve.

Or maybe you're watching too much TV.
