Then where the heck has he been lately? Surely mankind has far exceeded any cruelty and abolishments bestowed upon one another in earlier times. Someone is raped, murdered, abused, robbed, beaten, tortured, injured, kidnapped, hurt etc. etc. every single minute on this planet. We have surely by now exceeded his level of dissapointment.

To those that may answer, because Jesus died on the cross for our sins I then ask why we are to still fear a Judgement Day?

First, God will destroy what we know as the earth eventually (and many think it will be soon) The book of Revelation makes that clear. According to scripture, it is said that the end times will be like it was in the day of Noah. We are indeed coming very close to matching that standard of behavior. It also said however that until every person on earth has heard the good news of Jesus Christ, the end will not come. God wants everyone to have the opportunity to make their choice.

As to the judgement day...all people (even devout Christians) have sinned and will be judged based on those sins. Christians know that they will not be judged harshly because of their faith in Jesus but they will still be judged. Many believe that the Christians place in "heaven" or "the earthly paradise" will be determined by their judgement. I can't say what is or is not true regarding those views. I myself trust that God knows what he is doing.

It is astonishing how much suffering is in the world. That is why it is so important to work on yourself. Not because we disappoint someone else, but because we need each other in order to change all the delusional behavior that we all engage in and suffer from every single minute. Love never gives up. Be the change you want to see in the world. That is the only reason you are here. You have nothing else of importance to acheive.

He died for our sins- so we could do better!
I am not at all one who professes to know much about religion- but I do fear a judgement day is coming and I do not want to be left behind. So I seek what I can believe with an open heart and not enter into blindly.

bran: God destroyed the face of the earth with a flood because He hated to see His human creation to be mistreating one another. Yes; God will act again - but is allowing people to experience and eat the fruits of their ways.
God will not impose Himself on people but allows each and everyone to arrive at the place in their lives to come to see the need for Him. Only those who are to be acquainted to the reality of His existence, at His return to the earth will fear Him - not those who have entered into a relationship with Him - as they will love His coming - His return to earth.

Because only those who repent of their sins and believe in Jesus will be saved, just as John 3:16 says. There is coming a time worse than any time before on this earth....it is called the tribulation period. Please. Repent of your sins and turn to Christ as your savior. You do not want to be here when the wrath of God will be poured upon the earth.

God promised that He would not destroy the earth with a FLOOD again. The earth will be destroyed. The bible says, it will melt with a fervent heat....and there will be a new heaven and a new earth.

No, because Jesus died on the cross our sins have been forgiven. You are correct to find the difference between OT times and NT times and the difference is the blood of Jesus Christ, we are living under His grace.

We still have to except him and to repent of our sins. Christ died so that we could be saved, but we still have to live righteously to make it to heaven. Repentance is an everday occurence, even for the smallest things. God is prepare to cleanse the earth of wicked... Judgement Day.
