My grandfather is gone now and the pharmacist's I have asked know nothing about "high life". Any body know anything about it? Thanks

Sorry I don't know, but your best bet would be to find an 'oldie' and ask them, they might remember what is was and what it's use was and if it's been renamed or replaced with something else.

I did find one reference to it being a herbal tonic for the relief of gas and stomach pains but I can't be sure that's what it is or what was in it.

I've never heard of it either. I know there are pet repellants you can put on your trash or your flowers, but that stuff repels me, too. I don't know of anything you can apply that you wouldn't have to re-apply after each rain. Many chemicals that were in common usage in the past are now banned.

I remember one year my aunt put cayenne pepper all over the Christmas gists to keep her cats from getting in them. It worked well, but we all sneezed like crazy when we opened our gifts. Thgere are several products you can buy at a pet store to repel cats from obsects, I don't know of any for yards.

I don't know about that, but they sell something called Boundary at pet stores which is supposed to repel animals from the area it's sprayed. It can be used indoors or out.
