No, actually it helps strenthen the arch. I lived bare foot for years growing up not far from the beach, I have no problems with my feet.

No, going barefoot helps strengthen the arches if anything. Feet don't need constant support, more and more studies back up the idea that running barefoot is healthy rather than dangerous or bad for feet and ankles!

Nope. If you were ever to have flatfeet you would have been born that way. Running with shoes is the same as running barefoot, except there isn't quite as much pressure jolting through your legs. They're most likely trying to scare you into wearing shoes either because your feet smell bad or they're trying to find humor in scaring you.
