My right leg(thigh) is aching really bad and on the inner side of the knee just a little up on the right side (where you bend your leg), there is a slight lump and slight discoloration and tender. And today I didn't do much except stand all day, I found a bruise in that area. Also, it hurts in that area and up towards the middle top of the leg. There is no swelling. This has been going on for three months now. I have a doctors appointment comming up but just trying to find out what is wrong - curious. Please help?

Can you have a varicose vein with out seeing something sticking out?

Went to the PT and that is not helping, she told me to see my doc to see what he says - and he says I need to go to an orthopic doc. So that is what is next. Do they look at veins and nerves?

Certainly sounds like it could be a clot. But is could also be a badly varicosed vein. Since you say it has been going on for three months I would tend to go with the badly varicosed vein.
Since you stand all day ....try purchasing some support hose...they are tight little buggers but work well for circulation.

I hope that by now you have seen a doctor about your leg. If you do have a clot and continue to stand and use it you are taking a huge risk. So go today and get checked if you have not yet. If you do have a clot and it dislodges and moves you could die.
