Man lacks the ability to tell the difference between res interna and res externa...perception from reality.
Trying to do the right thing when we lack the ability to know the difference between right and wrong is why we need a saviour.

I mean, people think that they are doing God's work when they bash gays and abortionists and racists and atheists...which is completely contrary to what every religion teaches (tend to the log in thy own eye before trying to remove the speck in another's eye).

When Jesus said 'Forgive them Father for they know not what they do" he wasn't just referring to the immediate company of folks who were prosecuting him...he was referring to all of us.

We can't create knowledge out of nothing, though we may discover from something, even ourselves. We can't cause the food we eat to grow. Whether you deem it from nature or God, man is dependent.

A "Savior" answers that need. Contentment with reality is a good one, and if you believe the Holy Spirit is reality, then be content with it, if you don't know of such a thing, be content you don't know it, but never be malcontent, that stresses everyone to breaking points. It's better to strive for knowledge than to insist others who disagree don't have it.

God bless.

Mankind needed a savior because ever since Adam and Eve we have become sinners. God can not handle having sin near him...thus, the Savior to wipe mankind's sins away so we can once again be perfect in God's eyes.

Well, as a lying adulterer, I can't say I'm qualified to go to heaven. That's why I need one, and I imagine that's why everyone else needs one too.

My opinion reguarding a Savior is very simple: God created us as perfect, we made ourselves imperfect in an attempt to become like God, and in spite of our foolishness, God made a way for us.

A savior is necessary because according to Scripture, the penalty for sin is death. By death it means the second death, an eternity in hell. Because every single one of us sins, we can be held liable for our sins unless someone else pays the penalty for us.

I'm going to try to find the verses verifying this.

Simple enough! We are all in the same class -- sinners bound for judgment for our sin in a place of eternal death and punishment.

Someone had to come and rescue us because there was no way for us to do it. God's Son came and died to save us from sin and death (spiritual death) which is the penalty for our sin. That is why He is called a "The Saviour."

He is only the saviour to those who believe with their heart. Mental acceptance won't do.

We are imperfect and therefore separated from the perfect Deity. Jesus being fully man and fully God was able to bridge that gap by taking the punishment and giving the forgiveness simultaneosly. Hope that helps.

Because we are all imperfect and we all sin, in order to get to heaven we have to be sinless, and Christ created a way for that. Through his atonement, his death and the power of repentance we can be saved. Christ saves us!
