Remeber the show pokemon. Well, god gave noah some pokeballs to go catch every animal on the planet. It also made for easy storage on the ark. Any other questions you have, god did it. (btw i'm being sarcastic)

It is my belief that Noah was able to do this because he was responsible for only getting the creatures from his own area. The mutations that have brought many other types of the same species had not yet had time to develop. (example: feline, bovine, canine etc.) To him, the world was not all that big. By the way, even more miraculous, it was more than 40 days and 40 nights. That is only how long the rains and water coming from beneath the ground occurred. The ark floated for a long time after that.
As far a repopulating earth, Noah was not alone. It was a party of eight people as I recall. Without looking up the passage I don't know how many of each sex but I think it was pretty evenly divided. Do the math and you will see that it is entirely possible.

Ms: As a Christian, with good reason, I take this Bible account as truth. The animals came to Noah in pairs, were selected and arrived for transport on the Ark, via the spirit of God (Devine intervention). The Ark was 3 stories in height and the size of 1 & half football fields in length. It would be very interesting IF the result of Global warming would reveal the remanents of the Ark, as the ice and snow melts from Mount Ararat, in Turkey, in the near future. (just speculation). The population of the earth was done through Noah's sons and their wives i.e. Japheth (yellow skinned race), Shem (white-skinned race) and Ham (dark-skinned race).

I am a devout Christian and believe this on faith but it does seem pretty improbable. Although, I am able to believe that a teen girl was impregnated through the Holy Spirit and that the world was created by God speaking it into existence. It seems more probable than the alternative of matter popping into existence from nothing at the Big Bang. Thats what the Big Bang was. Nothing was there one moment because the extreme gravity was too much for any matter to exist and then all of sudden planets and stars and eventually conscious beings. I can understand people taking any position in this crazy universe. I personally find the evidence for Christianity to be the best.

I don't know if I actually believe in the story of Noah's Ark. However, every religion has some kind of mention of the great flood. So it must of happened. Also, even with an Ark as large as Noah's god would of had to shrink the animals down to the size of ants to get them to all fit in the ark.

If you accept that God made the earth and everything ( which is the first part of the " story " as you call it ) then how is it a stretch to believe His will could not provide for Noah and the animals?
You are cherry picking to make an argument.

If you've read the Bible, it says AFTER the flood animals became afraid of humans. Mankind still had a line of communication with animals; thus, it wasn't a problem for Noah to catch the 'anials', because they came to him unafraid.

didnt you read the story? of course it is truth.he didnt catch them, GOD brought them to the ark and no animal ate meat while on the ark all were fed hay and grain. in the beginning all animals ate grass, it wasnt until adam and eve left the garden that GOD turned certain animals towards the flesh. and he didnt exactly populate the world by himself...he had help from his 3 sons and their wives. GOD took care of the rest. if adam and eve could do it by themselves then 8 couples shouldnt have to much trouble.

I am not sure how he did it. I am sure he had help from the Lord with the animals. As far as populating the world, read the Bible. He didn't do it all by himself. He took his family including his sons and their wives and children on the Ark with him as well.

According to the story he brought his family with him...so there would be no need to populate the world asexually.
Anyway, I always wondered how the animals managed to swim across the ocean to get to the boat...not to mention how they all fit on there and didn't eat each other. Did he forget to load unicorns?
