Christianity as any other religion in this piece of rock called the earth, is created by Man for Man. All religions have well defined set of rules and concepts of principles and beliefs. And most "organized" religions have something more than that, a protocol of faith otherwise known as the dogma. Now the protocols of faith are typically transcribed collections of ideas that go beyond the core of the message of the original founder. Christianity for example was built around some profound declarations of human spirituality and destiny by Jesus. Himself, he focused on a few things that really mattered, like love and compassion, and expanded upon what was already part of the Jewish theological interpretation of the divine. That love and compassion enhances your spirituality to the point of enlightenment which brings you closer to God etc etc. His message was simple, primarily because he was talking to simple people; people with no education, people that were poor, people that were not only hungry spiritually but also hungry physically. Turning teachings into a religion though, I dare to say, is a far more complex and intricate matter. It requires not only speaking to the poor and illiterate but communicating to the educated and standing on equal ground with the keepers of governing power. There are then two stages that have to be completed that certainly worked for Christianity and Islam. First, one needs to take the teachings and morality of the message and wrap it or mold it into a concrete and well defined set of rules of Man to Man and Man to God contact. That is encoding the message to the standards and the particular society and system of values in which one is trying to establish the religion. To that extend there is no greatest contributor to the procreation of Christianity other than Paul, whose work in "Christology" defined the details of what is to be a Christian. Now one can debate whether Paul kept true to the liberal approach that Jesus had when it comes down to how forgiving or not God is and whether women should be kept in line with the traditions and other era specific social standards that fitted in the first century Greco-Roman world. Today they seem to us so anachronistic in their nature. But Paul had to mold the message into a set of rules and a religious manifesto that applied to his era because it was essential for the establishment and survival of an upstart religion. In addition, he gave everything he wrote undisputed authority from God himself. Nevertheless, such fundamentalist set of rules defined Christianity into an almost exact copy of the Jewish religion with respect to the rigidity of the faith protocol and the need to preserve "proper" worshiping decorum. The latter would then evolve to become the Christian traditions - in their many different forms and cultural variants. Needless to say, Jesus himself was enraged with the way the top echelons of the Jewish religion seem to have been more preoccupied with following the protocol rather than the spirit of it. Which begs the question, if Jesus showed up today what would his opinion be of the world's christian leaders.
So Paul established the first stage in Christianity religious makeup, which was the molding of a morality code and rules of worship. But one needs one more step, absolutely critical at those ages, a state sponsor. So Paul took the message and made it intellectual. That took care of everybody except the ones who had the power. It would take an emperor, Constantine, to transform Christianity into a state sponsored religion and with that give it the kind of power a religion needs not only to survive but to expand. But political power especially when it is imperial, unquestionable and absolute, would always lead to excesses and abuses by the men who wield it. And Christianity did not escape such abuses by the men in power who not only anointed themselves absolute rulers but also infallible representatives of God. So Christianity as we have it in modern times started with the best of intentions but it evolved through the worst aspects of human nature. That left so many stains - even bloody ones - in it's fiber that Jesus' message is often today ignored or even worst is second guessed. Many Christians are instead focused on protocol, interpretations and relative and comparative theology. It almost sounds like echoes of a room full politically driven and ambitious bishops striving for power in the Church's Council meetings during the first millennium.

God 'made up' Christianity, to bring us into a right relationship with Him. Because He is perfect and Holy he cannot stand sin. And we decided to go our own way and cut Him out of the picture, opposing God which is not what he created us for (ie to be under his rule). So because he needs to punish sin (ie. with death) He sent Jesus who is fully God and fully Man as a sacrifice for Sin. Jesus sacrifice was WHOLLY PLEASING TO GOD, thus bridging the gap between us and God and calling us to accept Jesus and to call Him Lord in our hearts and be thankful that he took the punishment for our sin so we would not have to be punished - ever. That we might live forever with Him.

Your belief of what Christianity is looks to be moderately skewed each from a ancient viewpoint and from a socio-theological one. Judaism and Islam are each monotheistic faiths that experience arisen from the equal culture as Christianity with the customary message of Christianity making an attempt to name the Jews again to the proper train of religion and with the revelation of the Holy Qur'an and the lived instance of the Prophet Muhammad, salla Allahu 'alayhi wa salaam, correcting each that preceded Islam. Christianity could now not be the "proper" faith for lots of motives adding that it isn't monotheistic in its present train having 3 gods and it many divisions, sects and cults that experience arisen from the equal as good as its lengthy historical past of compelled conversion, crusades, inquisitions, destruction of different cultures and peoples, and many others. The indisputable fact that within the West and exceptionally within the USA, it has now end up a business manufacturer preached in "mega church buildings" entire with multi reveal theaters, reside musical enjoyment, present and low retail outlets and many others makes it even much less gorgeous and gets rid of it even additional from the real teachings of the Prophet Jesus/ Issa, 'alayhi salaam. Another fundamental quandary is how the Christians scriptures are continually being reinterpreted for varous and extraordinary companies. There are presently greater than 1000 editions and translations of the Christain scriptures to be had available on the market they usually more often than not disagree and contradicit one an additional. If one appears external of the Abrahamic tradtion, to Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, and many others. they'll additionally discover that a tremendous side of the sector might disagree that Christianity is the "proper" faith. a number of the believers and fans of those religion might let you know that "one measurement" or one course isn't proper for all however that every one paths result in the highest of the mountain. If one real consider within the God (and the sort of monotheistic know-how entails today's Judaism, a few Christian sects, Islam, Hinduism and Shinto) then one could good be sensible ample to honor the goodness that's in all as the entire faiths have produced holy guys and females, saints and sages simply as all have produced devils, scoundrels and rouges. One could additionally observe that most effective the God has the capability to pass judgement on correctly as to the real nature of each and every one's intentions and religion. May all of us be rightly guided. ma'a salaam
