It could possibly be worms, but usually when a dog does that, it's trying to express its anal glands. Whether it's worms or an anal gland problem, a visit to the vet will take care of it.

This is a very common activity when the dog has worms. You can often see them if you look when he is rubbing. A second cause for such rubbing is to clean the area if some of the fecal matter is caught in his fur. Yes, humans can get certain types of worms from dogs and the eggs can survive a long time in the soil around your house. You should take the dog to a Vet for diagnosis and treatment...it's worth the cost.

Usually when a dog rubs is rear end on the floor it means his anal glands are full or maybe even infected. Call your vet, most of them offer anal gland expression that's not too expensive. If they're infected the vet will need to examine your dog and put it on antibiotics. If it is worms, the vet can check for this and deworm it accordingly. There are a few intestional parasites that can be transmitted from dogs to humans, but it's not too common. Your vet should be able to give you the best information.

pin worms are very spreadable. Almost all children get it at some point. And usualy its from pets. or other children. Id get your dog dewormed and get worm pills for the whole family to make sure. see if you only treat yourself yet not your son and your son has it. he can spread it back to you.
Worms are very common but very treatable. Ive had it at least 3 times. Im a very avid cat owner. So most likely where ive gotten it. if one member has it all members have to be treated since its so easy to spread. you dont spread the "Worm" you spread the eggs and the eggs are so tiny that you cant see them.

It could be that she has worms it she might need to have her anal glands expressed. Does she smell at all? If she smells, it's the anal glands. They can be expressed for around $15 at a dog groomers. If she doesn't smell, take a stool sample and take it to the vet so they can determine what worms she might have and how to treat it.

You and your son can get worms from the dog. It may also be because she needs her anal glands expressed. A groomer or vet can check the anal glands.

Could be several things, I have seen female dogs do this when they are in heat, it could be worms but that is less likely and it could just be an itch.

THE REASON THAT YOUR DOG IS RUBBING HIS BUTT ON THE FLOOR IS BECAUSE HIS ANAL GLANDS ARE FULL AND THEY NEED TO BE EMPTIED. ANY GROOMER CAN DO IT - YOU CAN DO IT YOURSELF IF YOU KNOW HOW. GOOD LUCK!
