I will leave the country. I've been here for 19 years, ever since I was 5 years old. My parents came here on a tourist visa to visit my uncle who came here to study for a phd on a student visa. My uncle became a permanent resident and is now a US citizen. My parents however overstayed their visa and made me illegal. I'm a 23 year old Brazilian illegal now. I went to school K-12, got an associate degree. My life is ruined though, what am I supposed to do now scrub toilets? If I go back to Brazil i'll be in even more trouble because i'll have to learn how to write, read in portugeuse plus i'll feel like a foreigner. ..What should I do?

I already know if I leave i'll have a 10 year bar. It's a irreversible decision. Should I stay and keep playing the green card lottery, wait for amnesty, and or get married. Or should I just go home?

This 12 months? no. Ever? I doubt it, however apart from that, Amnesty, if it could ever occur, it is going to now not duvet or advantage each and every unmarried unlawful immigrant. There are a sequence of standards that must be met to qualify for Amnesty, which reduces vastly the quantity of unlawful immigrants what is going to honestly practice for it. After that, the quantity that's authorized is even reduce. So, you spot, Amnesty would possibly handiest aspect of the answer.

This is the sad thing that your parents did not think about when they decided to overstay their visa. You will be among several millions who will be leaving. There will be no amesty, as President Bush told President Calderon during his trip to South America and Mexico two weeks ago that there would not be one as it was too upsetting to the American citizens and congress will not approve it.
There will be no amnesty, because the Americans do not want it, and the president and congress is listening to it's citizens because of the mass protesting and petitions that have been filed.

Call an immigration attorney. Some people in your circumstances can regularize, but some can't. The first consultation is often free. Check with the bar association or attorney registration service in your state to make sure they are in good standing. Most attorneys are ethical, however, there are some who prey on people in bad circumstances.

I'm sorry....But you too have become a VICTIM of the American youth culture of today.
You are now 23 years old, have had 19 years to prepare for this day, have been to (*&^ lazy to start the process at any point in your life. Now you come online asking another lazy *&^ what to do???????
One fact of America remains true...citizen or not. If you do nothing you will acomplish nothing nor will you have anything.
America has much to offer everyone...but you have to get up off your lazy @$$ and go get it yourself.
Sign me.....3rd generation don't give a *&%

Don't leave, I heard something about the DREAM law in california, is for people like you who where brought to this country by their parents and finished high school here, they would be given a legal status if they went to college.
I'm not sure about the exact conditions but even if this law doesn't help you, don't leave, you can always marry a nice us citizen girl, why not? there's plenty of that here, right? :)

Don't try to stay here illegally; it's wrong. Try to go through the naturalization process.
