So fill us in on these questions:

How long has your family been in the US?
Do you have any idea where the immigrant with that name came from?
Have you found any records of him using another name?
What was his name?
When was he born?
Where did he live after he got here?
Have you found any census records that tell his country of birth? Or military records?
Have you looked for immigration records on him from NARA? And if so, what did you find?

Ginac is found in several languages. To find your immigrant ancestor's original name, we need to know where he came from to figure out how he may have adapted it.
