Hi there. I have had a pilonidal abcess for over 9 years now. I know i need to have it surgically removed because it keeps getting worse. Just wondering if anyone out there with the same problem also experiences dizziness and serious bouts of fatigue. I think it's all related. thank you so much!

Within the past year I've had four surgeries dealing with what originally was diagnosed as a parianal abscess. The abscess was drained, but the wound itself healed to quickly. Thus resulting in a second surgery. The second surgery was similar, but the end result was an anal fistula that horseshoed around my tale bone. The third surgery they attempted to use fibrin glue to seal the tracts of the fistula. No success. My fourth surgery was with a specialist in Madison. That end result was a pilonidal cyst. As of today, it's still literally a pain in the butt. I'll be meeting with my surgeon within the next couple weeks. I've never experienced any fatigue nor dizziness. I've actually stayed very active. My senior year of high school while dealing with these issues I ran cross country, wrestled, and ran track. Today, while I'm still dealing with these issues I've been training for a half marathon, and playing basketball on a regular basis. It's hard to pin point your fatigue and dizziness, however, the abscess is an infection so it is possible. I wish you luck with your surgery. It'd be nice if they could come up with a cause for this issue, and a higher success rate of removal. Also, I'm a nineteen years old.
