Me and this guy have been talking for quiet some while (6 months) now and the other day he said I was his baby. I know he likes me but i dont know to what degree and whether or not we are dating.

that question would be best answered by him. in my case i called all my girlfriends before baby so as not to get confused with their names and utter the wrong one to somebody else. thats just me.

If you can't answer your own question then you and he need to communicate. You need to ask him a lot of questions, and then make your own educated decision.
It could be he is attempting to say something about his wanting a relationship, however corny his comment sounded (since it wasn't followed up with more conversation). Be careful when men use the word "my" as it could mean "possession" to them even though at first it might sound charming to you it might be a sound of danger. Be sure and listen closely to what he says.

just ask the guy because sometimes they might just be friendly and people misinterpret things but if this guy likes you and u like him as well take a chance and ask him. If you're afraid of rejection, just say somehting like "Hey r u seeing someone" something like that bring up the conversation chances are he might like u too but he's afraid of making the first move.

well just bring up a convo about you and him then just bring it up sumat like
"soo...if someone asks you are u single,taken or dating what would u say?"
or
"~his name~ can i ask...at what stage is our friendship?..do u like me as a friend or more?"
something like that...
