It's really hard. How can I get over him?

Me and my ex were together for four months. We were each others first loves. He went on vacation for two weeks and when he came back he told me half of him still loves me but half just wanted to be friends. So I said fine, I just want him to be happy, so we broke up. Even though he said we would be friends he no longer talks or looks at me. It's been two months since we broke up now. We have mutual friends and a class together. It's hard because I will be standing right next to him and it's like I don't exsist. I use to try and talk to him, not about anything big, just nice small talk, but he seemed annoyed that I was doing so. I use to wave, say hello, but nothing. Now I've just started ignoring him back, he obviously wants nothing to do with me but it's hard. We have some of the same friends and I can't hang around them anymore when hes around. Also we have a class together that I see him in and it makes me lose my focus. I really need to get over him but I still love him so much.

I've tride focusing on my studies, hobbies, friends, but nothing seems to work. I always end up thinking about him. I know I shouldn't care about him espesially with the way he has been treating me but I can't get rid of these feelings for him. I don't know what I'll do when he gets a new girlfriend. I don't want it to bother me. And it's probably going to be a friend of mine that sits next to me in the same class hes in so then they'll be flirting when I'm right there and I just don't want to hurt any longer. Any ideas how I can get over him?

i'm in almost the same situation, but my ex and i were only together for 2 months. im 95% sure that i loved him, and even though we werent as serious as you two seem like you were, it doesnt really matter because heartbreak is heartbreak, regardless of the circumstances. whats worked for me is hanging out with my friends a lot more, so much that i dont have time to think about him. i dont know what i'd do without them, because they really do make me happy, and they should make you happy, too. even though this sounds stupid, i've taken to writing stuff like "hes not worth it" and "dont waste your time" on my mirrors, so that i'll see them every day. i've gotten stronger, even if a part of me will always be attatched to him. no offense, but he sounds like a jerk. trust me, youre better off without him, and youll see that sooner or later. in the mean time, good luck with what youre going through. its tough, but youre not alone! =]

I know what you are going through, and it is hard. The one I loved, said we could date, but we never did, and now he's married! But this is how I got over him. I took it one day at a time. Even though you tried to focus on something else, try harder. Because if you really want to get over him you will! It's just that simple! If you wish sulk and be hurt about it, then do it. Because once you are tired you'll find the solution. Understand that you could be passing up a great guy, by continuing to dwell on the hurt your ex has caused you. Understand that he only said "friends" because he didn't want to hurt you, but end up doing in any way. You could try telling him how you feel, face to face, in a letter, through a friend. If you choose to deal with it and hold your emotions in, you'll never heal. So some kind of way let him know what has happened, then try to move on. Put all your energy and hurt into something you've always wanted to do. And if this doesn't work, just ride the wave until it settles. Good Luck!

just act like you dont care look happy and keep your head up show him that you will be fine without him. what you feel is just that thing called puppy love you will get over him it will take time but trust me.you will have many more broken hearts in life.

thats real messed up. first off, before you guys started going out you shouldve talked about what kind of relationship you guys wanted to have. seems to me like he wasnt looking for a serious long term relationship. its real immature of him to just ignore you like that. if you realllyyy wanna get over him i suggest you go out clubbin with some friends and meet some new guys. you're single hun, enjoy it!

i have a friend who was in the same shoe and she transferred to a different college cuase they have so many friends together! and now she's happy and found another guy in the new college. good luck!
