okay so around july of last year my husband decided to go to school to be a minister so we had to get a loan out to cover the first semester and then his GI Bill was going to pay us back in october. Well I got the loan I just needed a co-signer and i asked my step mom to do it. She said yes since it was going to be paid off in Oct. Well Oct came around and the GI bill didnt give it to us all at once like we thought and he needed some of the money for books. Well, my parents got mad that I lied to them when i didnt. Now they are soo pissed and wont talk to me because i went and got a dog and put it on my credit card and they thought i paid cash for her and they couldnt understand why I didnt put it towards this loan. They havent talked to me since January and I tried calling and apologising two nights ago and they wont return my call. What should i do. I want to be close to them again.. Please help.

Well I live in PA and they live in CO. I tried calling and left a message saying I was sorry and that I loved them but I already explained to them that I thought it was going to be paid off but they were just more mad about me buying the dog. But they wouldnt even let me explain why and that I put it on a credit card and didnt pay cash. They were mad I bought my husband Christmas presents instead of using the money toward the loan. I pay every month so I dont understand why they are so mad. Did I do anything wrong here?

if they are close enough to you that a wasted trip would not be a huge inconvenience go and explain what you expected to happen. Let them know you are very sorry that it didnt work that way and tell them you were not purposely lieing to them. you should probably not get anything that is not necessary to have until the loan is paid off to avoid other conflict.

Write a note or go to their house and make it a point to let yourself be heard. If you are standing there in front of them they have to listen right!? Good luck
