I've seen and held one very similar to that one. may have been the same model but not sure, Its a custom made .50 cal single shot in a bullpup configuration. they were designed and built (only a few) in Boise ID. the idea was to get the rifle below 16lbs so that it would be legal for hunting, they missed if I recall by a few ounces and the company went under. The Boise gun company had one laying around last time I was there but that was almost a year ago. Here's their site if you want to contact them, http://www.boisegun.net/main/

still not sure if its the same gun I saw in the store but whats on the video is a Liberty Arms LA-50, heres a pic of one from a company that makes suppresors for .50bmg's
http://guns.connect.fi/rs/50cal.html

The rifle in the video has a muzzle brake, the site I posted is for a suppresor, built like a sonic suppresor but if you get into the site it mainly functions as a flash suppresor unless useing sub-sonic rounds (typical for a suppresor on anything but a .22) The rifle I handled was a .50 bmg and loaded the same as whats in the video, similar reciever, different muzzle brake, dont recall the handguard being there. No one said it was an accurate or good design, or safe, would you really want that much powder going off right next to your neck and behind your arms and right next to your heart? which brings up the barrel issue, I'd guess total barrel length is about 28-30in max, no not good enough for a .50 but considering the rest of the weapon it doesnt have that great of an effective range anyway, pretty much a waste of a .50bmg.

Well, I know the caption says .50 BMG, but that is NOT a .50 BMG. Even with the impressive muzzle brake (its not a suppressor, its a muzzle brake) the .50 BMG would have more flash out of a short barrel like that (I mean, just look at the .50 BMG bullet--all that powder has to burn somewhere and its not going to burn inside a little barrel like that!) and the recoil is too mild. Dude, the .50 BMG is a 700-750+ bullet. My .458 Winchester Magnum with the 500 Grain bullets kicks more than the rifle in the film clip! It can't be a .50 BMG!

Also, even a single fifty BMG round would wreck more destruction on that big screen TV, etc.

My best guess? Its a custom AR-type rifle modified to fire the .50 Action Express round which is impressive, but considerably smaller than the .50 BMG.

I have seen these but don't remember the part that is upsetting to me is the blatant disregard for gun safety as all of us good shooters know guns are very unforgiving when used like this. Anything could have happened here causing a .50 cal to hit this guy by by were i him i think i would have knocked the grey matter out of him and called it a day. Defiantly not funny in my book

Looks like a custom job built on a Steyr AUG http://www.steyr-arms.at/index.php?id=77
I suppose it is in that 50 Beowulf round which is a straight case with a undersized rim (rebated) just short enough to work in an action designed for the 223 round. Perhaps it might be more appropriate to ask Why? instead of What?

The gun is a Madd Griffin custom .50 cal rifle that was his first and only gun before the feds came in and arrested him.

The Gun is a custom 50 caliber. Those guys are complete morons, they have absolutely no business owning, possessing or firing a gun. They are the idiots that give honest safe gun owners a bad name. You never ever, ever fire a gun while someone is standing anywhere in front of you. I wish I could meet them so I could slap the piss out of them.

looks custom, and the descrip eaven says that it is special effects, meaning that that does not eaven have to be real, and a marksman never aims a weapon downrange unless what is there is what he wants to kill, esp with a big slug like that and such a short barrel, also, most do not tand with a .50 to shoot, it buts them down right quick, and you get no aim, so they go prone.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO KEEP SAYING THAT HE WAS SHOOTING DOWN RANGE YOU ARE DENSE!! READ THE DESCRIP OF THE VID, THEY WERE NOT ACTUALLY SHOOTING, THAT WAS SPECIAL EFFECTS TO GET A POINT ACROSS

It's one of the .50 caliber rifles, but I cannot make it out. Looks like a shorter variant. I will research it some.
