Why do I ask? When asked do you consider yourself muslim or American, British, etc first, the majority reply they are muslim first and pay heed to the rules set by that religion before the rules of the county. Even native born ones.
That means while they are near your children, the teaching of the Koran or more important to them. The Koran teaches that all non-muslims are infedels and should be destroyed. That does not seem a good precept for guardianship of any children.

BTW, I am not racist. I am white, my son's godfather is black, one of my best friends is a (legal) Mexican and I honestly prefer the company of the blacks at work. Frankly, they are a lot of fun and if they are mad at you they let you know. No back stabbing which I find very respectful. I have no problems Asian or Indian people but I live in a country area where there are not many living.
My husband already buried comrades due to 9-11, I was yelled at by a group of muslims for my American flag shirt. Trust is earned. They have far to go.

I recieved an email pointing out that being muslim is not a race but a religion. I did know that, but after reading my last addition I can see why that person thought I was misled in that case. This addition is just to clear that up.

I know what you are trying to say, but I cannot even try to think of myself as a muslim, a religion that preaches the death of all those that disagree with them. I am christian and cannot put myself in that frame of mind. Even if I was atheist (no offense, I don't care if you are) I couldn't do that because although I may not believe in God, I believe in the humane rights of other people. Where do I get off speaking for atheists? I used to be one and it didn't make me want to kill those who had any type of religious value system.

No. Never. Under no circumstances.
By the way. Being a Muslim is not a race. It is a belief and there is no issue, in my opinion, on not trusting or even hating someone for believing its ok to kill innocent men women and children in the name of a god. It is not racist to hate someone for their religion. An atheist Arab, a church of Christ Iranian, or a Buddhist Libyan, I would have no problem with. I read someone that said terrorists would not go after a school, apparently they do not read the news. They blew up a school and killed many in Russia a year or so ago. They attack the schools all of the time in the Arab countries.

Let us reverse the situation. You are a Muslim living in a dominantly Muslim country and the security guard is a Christian, even an Evangelist like Bush. Would you trust him for your child's safety? After all, aren't these Christians murdering innocent women and children in Iraq?
It is people like you, who see the "other" as a potential threat, an enemy, that makes this world such a difficult place to live.
Let us learn to trust each other and try to understand each other. The only way to do this is to talk. Dialoge and understanding.

Man there are some discriminating people answering this question.
Firstly, from what heard over the years, students themselves pose a threat to each other. For example, you only have to look at 'bullies' within the education system. Another example is students who decide to come to school with concealed weapons, such as knives; but in more extreme cases there are those students who have gone to school with guns (in one case, a student in Australia came to a high school brandishing a crossbow and molotov cocktails) and other weapons with intent to do serious harm or to kill.
Therefore, it does'nt matter what religion the security guard belongs to. It's the students (and in some cases teachers/staff themselves) who also pose a threat within the education system.
Wake up people! Students, teachers, security guards, staff - they're all susceptible to carrying out harm within any school.

Yes I would. The terrorist loves people like you.You can not fear every muslim you see. They was here before 9/11 and lived as decent human beings. Now if the entire school district started to hire nothing but muslims for security gaurds then I would question it but just one muslim working as a security guard at a school does not alarm me.

What would the religion have to do with anything? Yes I would trust it.
You have to understand that a lot of muslims are BORN HERE. I have met numerous muslims who are even african american or hispanic, I even know a muslim woman from Switzerland. Just because someone is a muslim does not mean they are a terrorist. It is a religion. And if you want to start talking about religion, then that would mean ALL catholics are pedophiles. Is this right? NO.

of course, whyever not? of course, this is canada, we don't need security guards at schools!
wow, according to your additional details, you are a big-time racist! You have far to go, good luck with that - admitting it would be the first step - weird how so many racists insist they aren't...
you might want to actually read the quran before you go spouting off the lies you've been told about it and islam, too.

Well, I don't have kids but I would trust a Muslim security guard. I wouldn't trust a terrorist. Muslim doesn't equal terrorist people.
