There are nearly seven million active members of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. About 17 million associate themselves with this religion.

Jehovah's Witnesses understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite

That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.

Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire

While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]

Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind

Yes. They are a Christian group committed to preaching the word of Jehovah (God). Mat. 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptising them in the nameof the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."
Royal Racer - JW's are Christians
Deez - They are more aware of what is happening in this world than most people.
Kittywink - No they don't celebrate Christmas or birthdays as they originated with Pagan religions not with Jesus Christ.
The Rock - they are humans. the nicest ones you will come across actually.
Mofty - They don't harass. If you do not wish to talk to them then just say "I'm sorry, but I'm not interested."
aa.gabriel - define psuedo-christian
Joseph - they don't doorknock at 7am on a Sunday. That is there day of worship.

I have been one of Jehovah's Witnesses for ten years.Coming out of the Catholic religion which I found to be full of hypocrisy and pagan teachings.
We are called Jehovahs Witnesses because the name of Almighty God is Jehovah and as His dedicated worshipers we go and speak to people about our great God and his many purposes for mankind. So that makes us his witnesses. In line with Isa.43:10.
We preach to people just as Jesus also did,and taught his disciples to do the same (Acts.20:20;5:42)And we also do this in obedience to Jesus' command found at Matt.28:19,20.
I firmly believe that this is the true religion. No other religion adheres so closely to the Bible. No other religion magnifies God's Holy name. And no other religion has such a accurate and thorough understanding of the Holy Scriptures.
If you would like to know more,go along to your local Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses.Someone there would be more than happy to answer any questions. We also conduct free home bible studies,if you would so like.

Yes, they just built a church a block away from my house. It was the coolest thing I ever saw. Looked like a bunch of little ants working together. Those JW"s had that church done in a week! It was the most amazing thing, the member's donated their time and knowledge to build the church, there were cars with license plates across the state. When they do the lawn and yard maint. They all get together to do that too. No i am not A JW... I'm a morm!

Yes, I have family that are Jehovah's Witnesses and they are the nicest, most generous people you will ever meet. However, they do not believe in holidays such as Christmas or Easter or Birthdays. The only thing that they celebrate is anniversary's. They also are really into what they believe in and the most dedicated people that you will ever meet.

I think people exaggerate about the witnesses knocking on your door at 7am. They don't start until after 9am except to talk to people already out walking around town.

Yes. I grew up Mormon and for some reason we were always confused with that religion. I don't know much about them though, other than that I'm not one.
