Believe it or not. I have seen them in the sporting goods section of almost every Wal-Mart I have been in. I have always seen them in a spinning display case behind the check out counter. Hope this helps.

Well not trying to sound smart: a Gun Shop. But I suppose you want some Guidance as to brand. The relatively new firm of Henry Repeating arms is producing many of the classic Winchester designs in 22 LR:http://www.henryrepeating.com/
You could contact them to find a distributor near you. You can always make the round of Pawn shops looking for a used Gun, the Winchester 9422 was an excellent rifle.

some stores such as wal-mart and K-mart carry the Henry line of leveraction .22's. Winchester made a high quality rifle, the 9422 but you would have to go to a used gun stofre for one.Browning also makes a high end .22$400 to $700. Marlin has one for around $500. most gun shops can order any of these.

Ditto on the Uncle Henry lever action .22! I have a friend with one and he loves it.

The Henrys are fine, but the Marlins, in my opinion are better and while had to find, the Winchesters are the best out there. Just my opinion.
