Yes, the consistency is similar to dirt outside. Just watch your kittens paws for tracking.

That's totally up to you. It never hurts to try it out. Clumping litter is something that most cats have to adjust to. Kittens should have no problem.

Clumping litter is better for the pet owner, because it makes your job of cleaning the litter box each morning a simpler task.

Try to get the "nice" clumping litter, like Tidy Cat or something high-end. The cheaper the brand, the more likely your cats won't like it... plus, they will sneeze alot from all the excess dust from the cheap stuff.

I raised my kitten from the time she was 5 days old and she always had clumping cat litter. She's 2 years old now and has never had any problem with it.

You can use clumping litter with kittens, just be sure to keep it clean at all times, as with any litter.
One type not to try with any age cat: Newspaper pellets. It is seen as a toy or diet supplement, not a litter choice, from a kitty's point of view.
Good luck with the kitty!

Of course! I used clumping litter for three 3 week old kitties.
If scooped up after they mess, dispose of in a plastic bag
and the house won't smell like you have cats. They are such
clean and finicky animals, they won't want to go in the litter box
if it is neglected. Remember, do not dump this kind of litter
with the messes in the toilet, it can clog.

It should be OK - usually by that age they stop trying to eat it. They might still track it around and make a mess, though. Watch the little guys and have an alternative (such as a pelleted litter or conventional clay) available just in case.

NO: it is NOT safe. They could inest some from lickin their paws and that will clo their intestines and kill them. Besides, kittens ofen taste-test many thins, includin cat litter. Its better to use ordinary litter until the kittens are at least 1 yr old.

a vet doesn't recommend clumping cat litter for such young kittens as they might injest it and cause a blockage that can be very expensive to fix and very risky to the kitten

NO = you never use litter use a fluffy towel for them to lay down on. litter is only used for them to go to the bathroom, put it in a box, but leave a area open so they can get in and out.
