No not personally. Although I have seen vegetarian dog food being sold. Although, I just don't feel it is a good idea to force a dog to be a vegetarian. Believe me, I have struggled with this idea because I have been a vegetarian my whole life...but I have come to the conclusion that it would not be right. If you imagine a dog or wolf in the wild, the diet would consist mainly of small animals. The only veggys they would normally eat would probably be undigested veggies in the stomach of the animal they eat. Have you noticed the joy your dog seems to get over a bone or a chunk of meat? I couldn't deny my dog his natural instincts. Here I am a vegetarian but I make home-aid dog food at home (don't really trust cheap commercial food made by corporations with profit being the main factor). Anyway, yes I would suggest feeding your dog meat and I would also research making dog food at home for best quality.

I've known some and they all seemed to do very well. You need to be VERY careful with it though because if they don't get the proper balance it can cause major problems. I am a vegetarian myself and being that I care deeply for all animals I've struggled with switching to the diet for my dogs. I still feel they do better and believe in feeding a decent amount of raw meat and blended veggies. Dog food is used in moderation, just to make things easier.

YES!! My dog is a vegetarian. He is a dalmatian that is allergic to high amounts of protein. ON the contrary to what people thing dogs are omnivores and do NOT require meat to live unlike cats. Dogs can get protein from other sources of food such as legumes, beans and rice. My dog is very healthy, and energetic and no longer has medical problems. He is my best behave and calmest dog.

If I thought that my dogs would remain healthy I would make them vegetarians in a new york minute just like myself. But studies have shown that dogs need meat to remain healthy. So I do what is best for them.

Yes, and he is not the healthiest looking thing. Dogs, above humans, are required to eat meat in order to have their daily intake of vitamins.

Can you imagine denying your dog a bone, or a treat that is meat/meat flavoured? How mean.... :(

PS>> he is a vegetarian because his owner is a vegetarian and she believes it is creul and unusual for anything to eat animals because it is killing another living creature (somehow plants dont count though lol).

My dog is very picky on her food (tinned and dry) and will only eat a few brands. However, she will eat an fruit or veg that she is given and eats mostly anything that doesnt have the tase of meat in it! Weird!!
