My mom said I can only get 10 highlights (I dyed my hair dark brown, and now it is lightening up. It is normally medium auburn-ish color. I want to get subtle brown highlights). Anyway, 10 doesn't seem like enough.. How many is the normal amount to get?

ETA: Ten strands I think? Like thin sections of hair? And if you don't have more highlights, more power to you!

I have one color of ash blond in my hair and one bright blonde in my light brown hair. I went to the hairdresser and told her the colors I wanted and she gave me very thin higlights, many many strands were highlited, if you only do ten then your hair will look choppy and not so nice, especially if they are thick, unless of course you like that. Your highlights are supposed to blend with your hair so that the overall look of your hair is lighter or darker or however it is that your wanting it to look. You should get your higlights done at a hairsalon that you trust, and tell them what you want and how you want it to look, they will do as many highlights as is needed to make it look the way you want.

That doesn't make sense to me. Does she mean 10 colors, 10 strands? I only get one color and I get a partial weave, same as highlights.

I have many highlighters. I like the blue ones best. They seem to work best on books with slightly off white pages.

Tragically, I have none. I went today to get highlights, but the ladies at the salon said I have to get color restorations first. :(
