Considering the part of the world that it is in - and the danger there - would you really want to take such a job??

Before my husband passed, we were to be going to Egypt. Money is indeed better over there, but be aware when you are applying for positions. Consider the political climate. Consider if the person offering the position can be verified - which it would have to be because you would be applying for a visa to be able to work within that country (and they would know if it was 'real' or not). Contacting the United States passport office could also give insight into if this is legit or not.

Personal opinion - I don't think that it is. But if you want to look into it more - I would suggest that you approach it as I stated above.

I wouldn't work in W. Africa for $21K anyway, regardless if it is a scam or not. I would be automatically suspicious of any contact from Nigeria, this is not from Nigeria, so if you are interested in the position, conduct thorough internet research on the company name, and contact info provided. Google parts of the offer, and see if the offer has been posted elsewhere on the net.

Be very careful - you will usually know it is a scam if you need to pay any large amount of money to them for any reason, and never ever give your bank details.

Yes, it's a scam...a basic rule to follow in regards to these things is to remember that people do not give money away for free.

Did they come to you or did you go to them? But the real way to tell is if they ask for money in some form--credit czard number, bank account number, etc.
