Yes. Only the UAW worker got stiffed. But you helped a dealer earn a profit, a salesman got to put food on his or her table, and the mechanic has business from you. So buying a Mexican or Canadian assembled Ford helps the economy. And by keeping the Mexican assembly workers employed, you're helping their economy and ours. The Mexicans need to improve their economy so that they don't see the U.S. as a place to escape to from an impoverished land.

Buying most any car right now may help the US economy. The fact is that most people are not buying. What is being bought is used cars and this is not helping automotive manufacturers one bit. I think it would be a good idea to give automotive manufacturers a little from what a dealer sells in used cars. This may help boost the overall economy. This could save alot of jobs. I mean come on, every time a song is sold or a movie sells royalties are paid. Royalties should be paid on cars too. Especially when it is sold at a dealership.
Many parts are made here in the US for many different car companies. I work in a parts plant that used to make Mercedes parts and Toyota parts. We also make a variety of parts for GM, Ford, and Chrysler. But buying used cars does not help when we are producing for new cars.

Yes, as it still creates American jobs. Maybe, maybe not as much as a "foreign" car manufacturer that has a manufacturing plant in the United States also.
