I have noticed that the firing af US attorneys with the media has become the lead story, and no one hears anything on Walter Reid any more. Are our soldiers and veterans so insignificant that they can be pushed aside in the media in hopes people will forget about their plight?

I am trying to find answers to this because I have read soldiers blogs from Walter Reid, and I can't forget. Will you?

I think it depends on where you get your news. If you just quickly look at CNN.com or something else like it, you won't necessarily catch the follow-up stories. There are still plenty of stories making the news, in fact I just saw another story yesterday on the condition of a VA Hospital.

Nothing (except maybe Anna Nicole Smith) remains in the headlines for more than a few days. We have insatiable appetites for information and the news media has to keep the stories rolling.

Probably because the problems began during the last administration? My great uncle (WW2 vet injured during Operation Jubilee) went in to a VA home that was the best facility around but they ended up cutting the staff in half and teh place went down hill. Letting vets down once the parades are over is a sad tradition in thei country. Walter Reid got teh spotlight because of it's location, but the situation is hardly unique. They got their resignation out of it so the dems have moved on to better targets. Not that they really give a crap about the vets, it's all politics, all the time. They were the ones who cut or deny all the spending, and then pretend to cry about lack of facilities, lack or treatment, or lack of equipment for our troops.

It was in the news for a while, they can't put something in everyday of the week. There are other important stories that need to be heard too. If you are so concerned, then do something about it. Contact your representatives and start a letter writing campagin.

Because someone got fired over it. The press always loses interest in a story once they get someone fired.

Thanks, your question is an admission that the media is biased and will twist any story to make it look bad on the administration...
