John 6:47 is just one of many verses that tells us how we are to be "saved." It says "I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life." Here, as you may have already heard, he is talking about believing that Jesus is the Good News, the Son of God and the Savior of the people who follow his words and teachings.

Jesus is not asking that you be perfect, only that you believe. In believing you will attempt to be as Jesus is. Be imitators of Jesus.

What are we being saved from? An eternity apart from our creator, God.

Paul tells you how you can be sure you are saved.

All humans will be required a “sin offering” to pass in to the next reality. The next reality is perfect and not corruptible like this one. You must be clean to enter. Jesus Christ is the ONLY acceptable sin offering to the God of Abraham.

God’s rules not mine.

1Cr 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

1Cr 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

1Cr 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

1Cr 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

The Bible is very clear about what happens after this world finally comes to an end. God created us so He could love us and so we could know love. God loved us so much that he gave us his only Son to die for our sins because the wages of sin is death. But he also say 'whoso comes to the Father shall not perish but have everlasting life'. We are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God but only He can save us. He offers the gift of life through his Son Jesus. All we have to do is admit we are sinners and that we cannot save ourselves. And ask Him to come into our lives and our hearts and to be our savior. After death we either go to Heaven or Hell for eternity. The very best advice I can give you if you really want to know in detail what we need to saved from read the series of 'Left Behind'. The message is very clear and so wonderful. It's indescribable how awe-striking it feels to be close to the Lord.

If the polar bears have not eaten you yet, you are saved. Of course there are no polar bears in the Antarctic, so it was pretty easy.

Hmm... I want to know the same thing, but I'm guessing if your saved you repented and that you put your life in God's hands and let him steer you the right way. My mom always says to accept God into your heart and teach others about what he has done for you and all he as given. GOD LOVES YOU!!!

You would be saved from a life of sin.
If you put your trust in God and obey his word you will be saved.

"salvation" is a term of healing; no different than "salve." If you are living a whole life; a vibrant and happy, fulfilled life- you are saved. In the original language of the Bible, salvation has nothing to do with going to heaven when you die; it is a "this-worldly" and practical term.

when your concern is for the saving of others even to the detriment of your own salvation, then you are saved. You are being saved from the egotistical nature and from suffering.

When you die, see to it that you are buried with a thermometer. Then just check the temperature regularly. Anything over, say, 300 degrees isn't a good sign.....

Especially for a penguin.
