Traditionally, there are certain beliefs which the church has recognized as heretical. Would you be open to the idea that you could be wrong about a belief that you now hold if it meant that you would deemed a heretic? Ultimately, if you looked at the Bible in a new light and saw that a traditional cardinal belief of the Christian faith was not something that was being clearly taught, would you believe it?

For example, would you be open to the idea that you could see in Scripture that the relationship between the persons of the Godhead was not the relationship described in the doctrine of the Trinity? Or would you be open to looking at the idea that Christ was not bodily resurrected?

It would have to be Scripturally sound.

I agree with beano, we are supposed to follow the Word, not the doctrine of man. If it can be backed up by scriptures that are in context and feel right in my spirit, than I would accept it. That is why God has given us the Holy Spirit, at least one of the reasons, as a guide to help lead us to the truth.

There is no right answer for your question, because it is vague and without a point. The bible has been the subject of much debate, and I can only tell you this, nobody knows ****, to be honest I don't consider the bible as the ultimate guide to my faith and Christianity, God had one true message, and very simple commandments for the people to follow, everything after that is just stories.

Give a specific example of what you mean? I"m not totally getting what you are saying.

No for what you are saying...I believe Jesus rose from the dead. So I wouldn't be open to that idea.
