I fully agree with your analysis of the versions in Holy Koran. So long as these divisive lines are there in Koran, there would not be peace in the mankind. History bears witness to it. India could withstand such invaders prompted by intolerance in the name of God, only on the strength of the centuries old tradition of love, tolerance and non-violence. But what is taught to us in our culture through the lives of divine personalities like Sri Rama and Sri Krishna is to fight back against the evil forces for reestablishment of Dharma. Now the time has come after 1200 hundred years of suffering. All the Indians must understand the history in its proper perspective and get united for a collective encounter with Al Qaida the demon which might be the cause of killing of the Indian Muslims, just because they happen to be Muslims.

Prophet Muhammad was trying to unite the Arabians who were fighting among each other for religion and in that limited sense he was trying for unity of three Abrahamic religions. But ultimately his little success made him ambitious to rule over the entire world on point of sword by declaring those who do not accept him as the last Prophet and urging his followers to annihilate the non-believers called Kafirs.

Prophet Muhammad wanted to have a world under Arabic dominance. He lacked foresight but his followers are pursuing that unattainable dream antagonising the non-Muslims in the world. We the educated and intellectuals among the Islamic community should oppose it and concentrate on the spiritual aspects of the Holy Koran.

He was a warrior leading one tribe and fighting against other tribes in Arabian peninsula. Once he had to flee for his life. Because of favourable circumstances like desert wind his enemies suffered heavy loss and he became victorious. He tried to unite the Arabians who were fighting among each other in which he became successful. Later he became ambitious and annexed Persia, and other countries like Turkey, Syria, Damascus etc. He had from the beginning divided the mankind into two groups those who follow him and those who opposed him. The same dichotomy guides the Muslims to-day also in the 21st century.

Mohammed was setting the stage for Armageddon centuries latter. He guaranteed that Islam will butt heads with everyone it comes into contact with.
This verse was prophetic of the descendants of Ishmael as well.
Gen 16:11-12 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction. And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

Soem Muslims claim that the Jihad verses from Qur'an were meant for specific time and that their purpose expired by the time (outdated). I hope this is true

He had no concept of mankind except the people of Arab. He was a nomadic chief of the Qureshis, the tribe of priests.

I don't think his intention was to unite mankind. I think he intended to unite his own people (of that time).
