A popular idea for those who are not believers in Jesus. Not true though.

I think that religion was created to explain the world at a time when mortality rates were high, lives were dismal, and death was (and still is) inevitable.

Nobody wants to die. Religion gives the illusion of an afterlife. But science cannot prove the claims of religion, and often disproves them.

All we have in this life are short moments of existence. So I hope that humans can enjoy it, help each other, and face reality. The universe is a very big place, and too complex to reduce to a few subtle myths and irrational hopes.

I suppose religion could be a security blanket for some people. Still other people use false pride and a brave front to hold back the uncertainty and fear that is so much a part of their lives.

I'm not hiding behind anything. Just because one may be a believer does not grant immunity to the problems of life. What's wrong with an organization that preaches love and acceptance of others?

I believe that all people have to believe in something. Have you ever seen red dwarf? The robot (don't ask me names, I can't remeber!!) but the one they had like forever was going to be upgraded except he didn't want to go to kryptonite and the people did want him to go. So they played a trick on the new robot telling him, convincing him that there was no such place as kryptonite.
He self destructed.
I think as humans it is the same, wether it is Allah, God, Jehovah, Yahweh or Satan. Everyone needs to believe in something.

People have believed in God for thousands and thousands of years. Jesus was a Jew for crying out loud.

Because most people die in f***ing wars fighting for God think of the Crusades.. There is no war in history that hasn't used "in the name of God and Country" (even if it's not shoved in your face like it used to be).

But it's got me baffled how if most believe in a God and all the God/s have a plan for us for eternal happiness why do people interpret passages of the Bible, the Koran or any other religious text in the way that proves be against the eternal pursuit of happiness?

My religion teaches me to live boldly and without fear. It reminds me that death has been conquered and that I can live without constraint or uncertainty. For some it's a security blanket to make them feel warm and fuzzy. But, for others, it's a call to action: to live our lives differently and with purpose.

Our salvation is secure in Jesus Christ.
I would rather live my life with the hope I have in Jesus, than having no hope at all.

We do not have the spirit of fear if we have Christ.
