Not even close.I find it amazing, and frankly very hard to believe that you have a T3( a VERY expensive rifle) and you don't know the difference between a 7mm and a 7.62x39 bullet.

Not the same. The 7.62x39 (Soviet or 'Commie' round) is commonly known as the AK-47 round and is closer to a thirty caliber (like the .308 Winchester in diameter) than the .7mm which is a .28 caliber.
My question is, why do you want to ruin the barrel of a fine (and expensive rifle) like the Tikka by shooting tracers through it??? Inquiring minds want to know!
H
And 'bama,' the 7.62x39 and the .308 Winchester cartridges do NOT interchange; the .308 Win. is actually 7.62x51, a MUCH longer cartridge. The bullet themselves, as you know, are the same diameter: 7.62; that's where the similarity ends.

No. The .62mm difference in bullet diameter is sufficient enough where these two calibers are not interchangeable.
Also, those are two different cartridges. They won't fit into the chamber if they are not the exact cartridge the rifle is designed for.
In inches the 7.62 is .308" and the 7mm is .284". So that's like trying to fire a .30-06 in a .284 Winchester rifle. The bullet won't fit into that smaller diameter barrel and the cartridge will in no way fit the chamber.
You can't even reload ammo for your 7mm with 7.62 bullets.

Not trying to be out of line hear.
You know, after reading this question and several of your last questions.
You have a weapon, and have absolutely no idea which end goes to your shoulder and which end points down range!
You have no experience with a weapon what so ever, now mix that with a weapon and you have one very dangerous situation.
Apparently you have the desire to wont to learn, but your trying to go way too fast.
For your own safety and those around you stop everything right now and put the weapon up for now.
If you have not done this yet, do it now, go to a “Hunter Safety Course”.
If you have friends or family that are old hunters or shooters go talk to them and ask them to work with you, to help teach you about shooting and safe handling of weapons.
Then never never never try and use a bullet that does not match your weapon.
No matter how cool it looks never.
You say you have a 7 mm, ok 7 mm what, do you know just how many different 7 mm there is available right now.
I’m not trying to be degrading here but you need to slow down or your going to get hurt.
There are people who will intentionally give you bad advice, because they thank it’s funny.
Right now your vulnerable to this bad advice.
I am attaching a list of calibers for rifles for you to look over.
Your weapon what ever it is will only shoot “ONE” of them no more.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_rifle_cartridges
Look this over and read as much as you can about guns and safety.
You need to start off like we did, we crawled, then we walked, then you run.
One day at a time, or some one will get hurt.
That my opinion, whether you take it or not is your choice.

I like to see Bama load a 7.62 x 51 in a 7.62 x 39 and fire it, seeing it is 12 mm longer just under ½ inch, and you’re a “gunsmith” for what air soft !!!

Sorry different round the 7.62X39 is a smaller length round and bullet diameter. There is currently no manufacturer that makes a tracer round in the 7mm.

no. they are not the same. 7.62x39 soviet is a dimensional standard for cartrige size. as for 7mm, there are a lot of cartidges with a 7mm diameter bullet, and im not sure which you mean. Its a bad idea to load your weapon with cartridges that dont fit properly, or even if they do fit properly, its a bad idea to load your weapon with cartridges that have internal ballistics that could cause the weapon to misfire.
links to both 7.62x39 and 7mm are below for your reference

No they are different. The 7.62 X 39 is the Russian version of a 308. You can use these 2 interchangeably
