My first experience with an angel was when Jesus was trying to baptize me with the Spirit. I saw only from the shoulders down, and He was standing there with His hands extended toward me.
Angels are here all around us to carry out the will of God. They protect us and make things happen ( through our prayers and Gods bidding ).
Be careful that you don't believe a deceiving angel . Always check out the message with the Word of God !
The Comforter ( which is the Holy Ghost ) is there for the brokenhearted. Jesus is come to heal that.
Until He does, learn and use the experience to reach out to others in compassion.

For some reason this question reminds me of the song "My Father's Angels". It's really sweet!! I sing it to my kids all the time and they love it, there is a book that goes along with it.
"Their all above me, beneath me, before me, their all around me. My Father's Angels all protect me, everywhere. I could never stray so far that my Father would lose track of where I am. Angels walk beside me, holding tightly to my hand....."
Anyway its a very sweet song. There is more, but you get the point. I have had experiences in my life, ones the should have resulted in my death. I believe I am here because God had His Angels protecting me. I wish I knew how to answer the rest of this question, but I am not sure I can. Hope I helped you at least a little bit.

I have never seen angels with my eyes. I have sensed their presence. The bible says that God is near the brokenhearted. I do not know if angels are always around us. I sense them very often when I am praising and worshipping the Lord in music! Are you brokenhearted? I ask that the Lord envelope you in His love.

I think we can communicate with angels when they assume human form. This would include when people say they've seen their dead mother sitting on their bed in the middle of the night (these are demons - i.e. evil angels). God has no reason to reveal Himself in that manner. Angels are able to stand in the presence of a perfectly holy being God all day everyday in heaven. Though God loves us equally, humans are filthy with sin, and we wouldn't be able to stand in their presence. God/Jesus said that when he returns,'all eyes will see him' the living and risen righteous, and even the living and risen hellbound. To me angels are another of God's wonderful creations/tools that we can't comprehend.

My brother has seen angels! He was always really close with my grandpa and then he died. Well, his first baby was born on my grandpa's birthday and when she came out, she didn't cry, she looked toward the window and my grandpa was sitting there watching. It's a pretty cool story.

i do know that each of GODS children have at least one angel charged with gaurding them. i do believe that they also relay messages, as the angel that attended daniel, he got stuck fighting the prince of persia:
Daniel 10:12-14 (King James Version)
12Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
13But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
14Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.
seek GOD...in all your way acknowledge HIM....HE will comfort and care for you....and lastly...ask HIM for a hug...trust me, it works.
