NO..i do not trust any of them now...first it was wheat gluten, which is in all types, wet, dry, treats....now it is rat poison....who is to say it did not get into the dry stuff.....maybe it is just not as concentrated, so they havent figured it out yet...my animals are too precious to me to take that chance..

I am very concerned but recognize that I do not have the time or the expertise to cook for my animals. I use a high quality commercial food called California Naturals which I selected because it has the fewest ingredients of any commercial food as is designed to be hypoallergenic (I have one dog with allergy issues). It contains no wheat products. They make cat food also. It is balanced and after doing my research I am comfortable using it. There are several other brands out there that I believe to be high quality and you should be able to select one of those.

I never did. It’s foolish to put blind trust in anything you buy for a pet, or a human for that matter.
People seem to have very short memories. There are recalls on pet food, not to mention human food, every year, and sometimes several. There is no brand that is "definitely" safe. By this time next year, will this be forgotten as well?

I can honestly say that I will think twice next time I am on the dog food aisle. I was horrified when I saw 2 of the brands that we had fed our baby on the list, and now will only be feeding him dry dog food and homemade stuff. Makes me wonder what other stuff is out there that could be tainted....scary!!

I used to feed my dog NUTRO when I first got her then switched to California Natural. I also fed my dog homemade food of cooked chicken, veggies and brown rice for about 6 months and she did real well on that. I also gave her vitamin supplements. (Don't feed onion, onion powder, though)
Until you find a food you know is safe you could cook your dogs food. There are a lot of websites with homemade dog food recipes such as this one: http://www.simplypets.com/pet-recipes/Dog/Meal

I am also in question in which food to use now. We had 2 dogs that ate Nutro. Atleast we only used dry food so they should be ok.

I totaly agree with you. I never trusted any commercial pet foods especialy now after all those recalls. I cook my babies homemade food and its well worth the time and washing up.

I trust the premium brands, the ones that are made with human grade ingrediants and have their own processing plants.
I had heard Nutro was sold, and was watching to see if the quality went down, the way Iams and Eukanuba did after they were sold to Proctor & Gamble.

I hope the rat poison wasn't put in on purpose, that would be really frightening. It's terrible anyway and I hope the company pays dearly for this problem. I don't trust any of it either.
