I have so many rituals like i am scared of rodents bugs spiders and FISH are my main scaredness thing. I have to count things in my head like if someones adress is : 633. I have to go 3+3=6. or the time... 9:45 = 4+5=9... I can't get out of MY bed unless the minutes somehow equal the hour. I cant walk on cracks and getting up in the morning i have to follow a specific pattern.

Yeah I have to go to a therapist for medicine and a councelor for depression but I dont want to tell them about this yet because I'm having family problems and dont trust them. I think I want to ask you guys just beacuse of the fact that there is no harm done just asking...

I just found out I have OCD. I used to not believe anything my boyfriend said and I always thought he was doing something behind my back. My ritual was asking the same question over and over. I would ask stuff like do you flirt with girls when I'm not around? Then he would have to explain to me for LITERALLY half an hour about how he didn't flirt with anybody and when he would get done explaining it I would ask the exact same question again. It was very tiring for both of us and I went to counseling because he broke up with me because he couldn't stand it anymore. We are back together now because I have been on Prozac for about 2-3 weeks and it has helped tremendously! Trust me your counselor has heard everything and they understand OCD and medication really helped me. I could not do it with therapy alone although some people can. I dated my bf for 2 years and I started doing this stuff to him almost immediately so he has put up with it for a very long time. I know how tiring this disorder can be and you really need to get some help b/c you will feel so much better. I promise.

What exactly is your fear of telling your therapist? You also have a trust issue with this individual and are not comfortable sharing this important information with him/her. Trust is very important to have with your therapist. You need to write down the reasons why you are afraid. Then write down the reasons as to why you should talk to the therapist about the problems that are worrying you. This doesn't make you a bad person because you feel you have to do these things or have these fears. The therapist will give you input as to how to redirect the thinking to stop the obsessing.. I have OCD and am very anal about everything to the point that it keeps me from getting as much accomplished as I should. I have improved greatly and now do not do things over and over till they look perfect to me.

i was in therapy and for depression/ocd and i had started hearing voices. I told my mother but never built up the courage to tell my therapist. You should really describe these rituals to her/him. It might change your life. There are websites on OCD also.

I actually do have OCD. I used to be afraid of knives. I also had to take a certain ammount of stepswhen I was walking to a certain place. I think you may have OCD. I am on medication for it and it has made my impulses of OCD much more manageable. I was actually diagnosed in 2nd grade. Much luck.

Sounds llike OCD but it doesn't sound like it's major enough to be affecting your daily activities. It does get worse with anxiety. Since you are going through some hard times right now, it's probably at it's worse. Try to relax.

I am sorry did I miss something? You are seeing a therapist, but don't want to tell the therapist? Please tell me why? It is not ethical for your therapist to discuss you with any of your family members, unless you have OKed that. Just why go to see a therapist if you really don't want to get well? Or are you saying that you really do want to get well? It is time or you to confide in your therapist.

It sounds like obsessive compulsive disorder to me...You can discuss this with your doctor in confidence and they can't discuss it with others.
