I would think they would want to inform others.

Any annual events or meetings etc?

There are some atheist organizations created for the purpose of actively going against theism.

But organizations for atheism in and of itself? Not really.

"Welcome fellow atheists!"
"Hello!"
"So... we all don't believe in God."
"Yeah, pretty much."
"'k... so what do we do now?"
"Guess we go home?"
"Cool with me. I can't think of anything else to say."
*everyone leaves*

*edit* Terry below says atheism is a belief. Actually, atheism is LACK of belief in a god or gods. It's not a belief itself.

More importantly does is need a cause? I'm sure atheists have personal agenda's, as any human, atheist, religious, or otherwise do, but a cause as a whole or "group" doesn't seem likely.

But a conspiracy would be pretty cool, like....I don't know the OPPOSITE of The DaVinci Code or something.

Atheism isn't even a belief, it's a lack of belief in gods. Why is that so hard to understand? It doesn't imply a substitute belief, all "atheism" means is "without theism" - simple.

Does the disbelief in Santa Clause have a cause? No. That's the same way it is with the disbelief in god(s), AKA atheism.

On many college campuses, AHA (Atheist, Humanist, Agnostic Association) meetings are held regularly. I was in fact a member of one just one year ago.

Yeah. Probably you should get out from under your rock.

Atheism is just a lack of god belief. People usually don't tend to organize over what they are not. You don't see many organizations of non-bowlers or non-golfers.

I'm an evangelistic atheist. The cause: the history of religion is insane. This place is a good site, start with it.

We all have our own path. There are some small groups, but no big organization.
