Nobody is asking public school teachers -- pagan or otherwise -- to lead children in prayer.
But we do want to put a stop to things like school principals telling kids that they can't pray privately during their lunch break or recess.
We do want to put a stop to things like high school valedictorians having their microphones cut off when they mention "God" in their graduation speech.
We do want to put a stop to things like high school kids being threatened with suspension because they wear pro-life T-shirts to school -- especially when the same school allows pro-gay and Marilyn Manson T-shirts.
We simply want school kids to have the religious freedom that their country's constitution guarantees. They should not have to check their religious freedom at the door, simply because it's a "public" school.

I've seen the government get it's sticky little fingers in too many things and mess them up beyond any further recognition. I don't want prayer to be organized by the school.
It has never been "kicked" out of public schools if a student wants to pray on their own. I've even known of some public schools to allow a student organized Bible studies in a school room before the beginning of the day's classes.
I just don't want my school teachers and administration to be messing the prayer thing up for impressionable students.

I don't think prayer should be brought in to the public schools to be lead by teachers or any staff member. What I would like to see is a set time at the beginning of the school day, call it a moment of silence, in which children can take the time to pray if they make the choice to do so. You are right, I would not want a pagan or otherwise leading my child in a prayer. It would make no sense.

No one has to lead my children in prayer. They can pray privately were ever they want. They can pray in the middle of a crowded classroom. They can pray in the school hall ways. There are no boundary's stopping a Christian from praying. Some students have organized group prayers around the flag poles before school starts.
Prayers are already in the public schools. Christians can speak to God anytime they want. It doesn't have to be done out loud.

a public school cannot lead the students in a prayer. That would violate the separation of church and state. Now they can if they wish offer a time for students to pray, or the students can pray on their own, so long as it doesn't disrupt the class, that would be okay. To say that a students cannot pray on their own in a public school would be a violation of the freedom of religion. oh, I'm a Christian.

I'm not sure how old you are...but, when I was in elementary school, we stood up every morning, said the pledge of allegiance (the correct way, One nation, under GOD), then there was 1 minute for silent prayer. None of the teachers lead the prayer. It was one minute of silence. For those who didn't want to pray, they didn't have to. They just had to be quiet for 1 minute. I don't think it's alot to give to God considering everything He has given us. Do you realize how much has changed in this world since I was in elementary school? Back then, when parents actually spanked kids, there was the real pledge and there was 1 minute of silence afterwards, the world wasn't nearly as bad as it is now. Something to ponder on.....

I don't believe that prayer should be brought into public schools, and I am a Christian. I have no desire to force anyone to pray. If people wish to pray, they need to be respectful of others and not force anyone to do it who does not believe. This is a free country. God is not interested in twisting anyone's arm...He asks us to come to Him of our own accord.

I'm a Pagan and I wouldn't want Pagan Prayer in schools. Religion and public education should not mix. School is for everyone.

The home is the first school and church. If you raise you children in the way they should go, then they wouldn't depart from it. If a parent is involve in the life of their child, you can have pray in school or not; pray to pagans or whatever and you child wouldn't depart from your upbringing.
